Don Pedro Island State Park is an idyllic tropical island accessible only by boat, and a trip here is a once-in-a-lifetime adventure the memories of which you and your loved ones will cherish forever.  Navigate your kayak through a pristine mangrove trail, where you may see sea stars, sponges, crabs, seahorses, and several different species of fish and birds. This trail leads to a hidden lagoon, accessible only by kayak or SUP and which is one of the area’s best-kept secrets. From there we will continue on to the landing at Don Pedro Island State Park Beach, one of the most unspoiled and private beaches in all of Florida. On this beach you can enjoy your lunch, either provided by us with advance notice or the meal of your choice. After your meal feel free to walk the 1 mile of beach and don’t forget to keep your eyes peeled for shark’s teeth! Upon departure from the beach, we will return to the launch and may see pods of Bottlenose Dolphin, or the West Indian Manatee!

Do you need any experience to take a tour?

No.  Our Don Pedro and Dog Island tours are perfect for beginners, and our guide will give a paddle lesson before departing on the tour.  Our guides also carry all necessary rescue and tow equipment to ensure the safety of all of our clients, no matter their experience level.

How big are the tours?

We try to limit the tours to a maximum of 12 clients, but usually the tours are much smaller.  We keep our tour sizes small, for both the quality of our clients experience and most importantly your safety.

What is your cancellation/weather policy?

Cancellation required to be 48 hours in advance for 50% Refund, or Rain check for full tour on a later date.
Within 24 hours. It’s a Rain check for anytime in the future with Kind Vibes.
If KindVibes Outfitters determines weather is an issue we will either reschedule or give a full refund.
Large groups booked in advance will require a 10 day notice and refund will have a 20% cancellation fee.

Is there an age requirement for the tours?

The minimum age to go on our tours is 5 years old. The Don Pedro or Dog Island tours are great for kids of all types, but with that said we do not recommend the Living History Half Day or the CHAP Backcountry trip for young children, due to the duration and route of those trips.  We do provide appropriately sized children’s PFDs (life vests) on all of our tours and rentals.

Do I need to wear my PFD?

The safety of our clients is our number one priority, so it is required that everyone on our tours wear their life vests at all times while on the water.

What kind of wildlife will we see?

We cannot guarantee any particular wildlife sightings, however just some of the wildlife regularly seen in the area include West Indian Manatees, Bottlenose Dolphins, Osprey, Bald Eagles, many different types of herons and egrets, shellfish, crustaceans, and much much more!

Are there alligators on the tour?

Alligators can be present in any body of water here in SW Florida. However, our Don Pedro and Dog Island tours travel through saltwater areas that gators tend to avoid. With that said, alligators are not the vicious beasts many think they are; like the vast majority of wildlife, they are terrified of you and just want to be left alone.

Will I get wet?

The short answer is yes, but not soaked. You can expect to be in knee-deep water while getting into and out of your kayak, and of course there are opportunities to get wet if you so choose!

What kind of kayaks will we be paddling?

We take pride in providing you with the best equipment in the industry, we have both single and tandem kayaks that are very stable, fast, and track well and have plenty of storage space as well as top of the line stadium-style seats.
